One of the highlights of my tour of duty in Hawaii was going to a concert in Honolulu. It was a hot night (okay, every night in Hawaii is warm, but this one was hot!). While we were waiting for the show to start, beach balls and frisbees flew throughout the arena. But the show was one that I recall to this day. The group that performed that night over 20 years ago is the subject of our Family Site today.
They are called Sha Na Na, and this is their offical website. If you haven’t heard of them, they are the premiere “golden oldies” rock and roll group. They first gained prominence at Woodstock (yes, THAT Woodstock) in 1969, and have continued increase in popularity over the years. A syndicated television show, appearances in major motion pictures such as “Grease” and world wide tours have ensured their popularity to new generations every day. Screamin’ Scott, Danny, Jocko, all the members are featured here in pictures and sound. Drop in, take off your show, and get on down to the hop. Or take a stroll down memory lane with the group that put the bop in bop-do-wop-do-wop, and the ram in rama-lama-ding-dong. You will enjoy the trip.
